Solstice 0079

Today we are excited to introduce you to Orla, the owner of Solstice bride! Orla started Solstice Bride to offer Brides to be a fresh alternative to mainstream bridal salons. Her chic bridal boutique is located on the second floor above all the hustle and bustle on Abbott Kinney and provides a thoughtfully curated selection of wedding gowns in a fun and unpretentious vibe.

After visiting her beautiful showroom we sat down with Orla and asked her for a couple “tips and tricks” for finding the perfect wedding gown.

Q: What style gowns does Solstice bride carry?

Our selection of gowns are effortless and fuss free, a reinvention of the traditional – evoking LA’s bohemian spirit and Rock and Roll edge. From modern and simple to classic and romantic,  a bride can wear them with a veil at a Malibu vineyard, wildflowers in Joshua Tree or barefoot in the sand.

Q:What are some of the current bridal trends?

I’ve seen a lot of brides loving bridal separates, long sleeves, exposed backs and personalized accessories. Our bride isn’t really one to follow mainstream bridal trends- she wears what she feels beautiful in. A bride’s wedding day look should be an extension of her personality and make her feel like the most elevated version of her everyday self. Our gowns allow her individuality to shine through.

Q:What is your advice for a bride to pick out the perfect wedding gown?

Come with an open mind. Our most popular dress is one that often gets overlooked by brides on the hanger, but once it’s on the body it’s a knockout.

Q: What should you expect to spend on your wedding gown?

Our gowns range from $2,000 – $7,000.  I also warn brides to leave room in their budget for alterations as those can cost anywhere from $150-$700.

Q: How far in advance should you start looking for your wedding gown?

I recommend that you begin shopping for your dress at least 8 months before your wedding, as it can take up to 6 months for your gown to arrive. I also suggest giving yourself an extra 1-2 months for alterations leading up to your wedding date.

Q: Any other advice for our Single Stone brides?

Once you find your dress, get off Pinterest and stop looking at other gowns. You will drive yourself crazy with second guessing and doubt.
